These are the rules of The Giving Circle, operated by The Giving Circle FZC, Sharjah Publishing City Free Zone, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (licence 4432058.01). By using the app you agree to them.
You must be 18 or over, and you must give your real name. The Giving Circle works because people know who they are dealing with.
The Giving Circle introduces members to each other. Everything that follows — a meal handed over, an item sold, a lift given, a hand with a CV — happens directly between the two of you.
We are not a party to it. We do not deliver anything, hold anyone's money, or guarantee that a member is who they say they are or that an item is as described. Use the same judgement you would use meeting anyone for the first time.
When you post, you are giving your word that what you have written is true — that the item is yours to sell, that the job is real, that the case is genuine. Every posting form asks you to confirm this.
Do not post anything illegal, counterfeit, unsafe, or belonging to somebody else. Do not post another person's details without their permission.
Cases are reviewed by our team before they are shared, and we ask for identification because the page exists for people in genuine difficulty. A case found to be false is removed, and the account that submitted it may be closed.
The Giving Circle does not collect donations, and a case never asks you for a sum of money. Under Federal Law No. 3 of 2021 only licensed institutions may collect donations in the UAE, and promoting an unlicensed collection online is an offence under Federal Decree-Law No. 34 of 2021. So no case on The Giving Circle names an amount and no money passes through us. What a case does is describe a situation and let members who want to help reach the family directly, or give through a licensed charity.
Carrying something for another member is a favour between people, never a paid service, and never freight. Never accept a sealed or unknown item: open the bag and look inside, every time. You are responsible for what you carry across a border.
Membership costs AED 25 per month and is sold through Apple's App Store and Google Play, on their terms. The first three months are free. After that it renews automatically every month until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time from inside the app or in your store settings. Cancelling at least 24 hours before a renewal stops the next charge.
Cancelling ends your membership and any remaining free months at once. Sharing a meal and Give Back stay open to you either way.
Places are earned by sharing food, never bought, and membership does not grant one. A meal shared and collected enrols both people once they have both confirmed the handover. There is a limit of ten places per person. Attempts to manufacture places without food changing hands will remove them, and may close the account.
Every listing carries a menu to report it or to block whoever posted it. We look at every report within 24 hours and remove what breaks these terms. Blocking is immediate and private — the other person is not told.
Treat people the way you would want your family treated. Harassment, abuse, discrimination, spam and scams end an account, without notice and without refund.
You can close your account yourself at any time — Profile, then "Delete my account" — and what you posted goes with it. We may close an account that breaks these terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates.
